BRETT BIZICK: MAKEUP ARTIST OF THE STARSIn 1993, I started selling cosmetics in a department store in Los Angeles. I naturally enjoyed selling products that help make you look and feel better. I had to do makeup in my new job but I was awful initially. I remember my first week putting this "pepto bismol" pink color shadow all over this girls' eyes. It made her look like she was ill. I had no idea however that it was that moment would be my turning point for the next 20 years. Making that first mistake was great because I was able to recognize when something was in or out of balance or when color did or didn't work in harmony. For the next two decades I taught myself how to do makeup, working with thousands of women from all over the world, trial and error, makeup books and many movies and television shows often pausing the screen to study why and how someone's makeup did or didn't work. In my spare time I would cut out pictures in magazines and make notes about everything I noticed with regard to the makeup, good or bad. I worked with over 100 cosmetic lines and traveled around the U.S. as a national makeup artist teaching and training others. I have done makeup for weddings for 18 years and have worked with many celebrities for the Grammys® and Oscars®. I have also been a makeup artist for editorial, film, TV and video. In 2004, I taught professional newscasters in Seattle how to properly wear makeup for high definition cameras. After 20 years, this is what I believe: Beauty is achieved through good health and celebrating individuality - enhancing ones uniqueness with makeup that is not only beautiful, easy to use and affordable but more importantly, makeup that supports a healthy lifestyle as well. My joy comes from teaching people just how to achieve this. My techniques are simple, quick and effective, taking you only 5-10 minutes to do with results that can literally change your life.
